In a Grammy ceremony tinged with sadness and mourning for Whitney Houston,
Jennifer Hudson delivered a tasteful and simple tribute to your late singer, performing Will Always Love You in advance of a silent but appreciative market.
Though there was no time at all to prepare the type of performance that Houston's legacy demanded, the rendition with the hit song, which Houston made famous in The Bodyguard, had been a poignant tribute. Though Hudson appeared nervous, her performance was almost widely praised.

Hudsons performance came after a montage of departed artists, ending with Houston. She stood in silhouette below an image of Houston and ended the song along with the ad-lib,Whitney, we really enjoy you. Looking psychological and mental, she exited quickly after the song was over. There were reports that will Hudson broke down sobbing in rehearsals for what will surely be just about the most memorable performances of her lifetime, but she could remain composed throughout your performance.
Hudson has always been compared to Houston. Earlier in the evening, on the red carpet, host L. L. Cool J said of Hudson:She is actually a different singer, several diva, but sheals the closest thing we have now to Whitney.
